Hazel had a sold-out solo exhibition at the Park Slope Gallery and has been shown in all of our exhibitions since 1989.Other exhibitions have included In and Out of the Garden and Beyond the Boundaries at the Flynn Gallery in Greenwich. There were also ASBA botanical shows including the 10th International Exhibition of Botanical Art and Illustration and Down East by South West, featuring maps and landscapes sponsored by the Greenwich Historical Society. Hazel’s wonderful work has also been in solo and group shows sponsored by local art organizations in Greenwich, Stamford, and Rye, NY.
Through the years, Hazel has also been commissioned by many of our clients to create personalized watercolors of beloved pets, family china, or favorite flowers.
Hazel brings a scientific observer’s eye to nature’s offerings. Her botanicals are beautifully analytical, looking at flora and fauna in a variety of ways. Her watercolors strike a naturalist’s balance between detail and summary of her subjects.
From her charming still-life compositions to her spot-on cat portraits, from her enchanting city snow globes to her technique in capturing delicate feathers, there is delight in how the natural world enriches us and how the human touch provides an additional dimension to enjoy it.
